Justify Your Conference Attendance

Because we recognize that resources for professional development are limited, we have provided a few tips to help you justify your school or organization’s investment in your attendance.

Tips for Making Your Case
Be results-oriented. Focus on what new information or ideas you will bring back to your school or organization  that will help increase pathways or opportunities for leadership and
expand existing efforts to affect student learning.

Share your learning. Offer to prepare and deliver a short presentation to your colleagues and leadership to share what you learned at the conference. Provide recommendations for how
to improve current systems or structures to steer systemic improvements.

Make the most of your trip. Extend your learning with the Institute of Mastery and Integration with a practice-oriented consultation and training that promote and protect children and
families. The Institute takes a deep dive into learning and provide resources and opportunities to state and local agencies and the social services sector work to help heal children, youth and families who have experienced adversity.

Connect with your peers. Take advantage of the opportunity to meet with attendees, presenters, and exhibitors to learn promising practices and engage with people who share
your expertise and passions.
